Workshops on Analysis and Conservation of Archaeological Objects
For foreigners interested in peruvian prehistory Yachay Wasi has programmed the following programs for groups larger than 9 participants:

A staff of archaeologists, conservators and artisans will lecture and carry out practical sessions on the structure, iconography, weaving and dying processes, and conservation techniques for pre-Columbian textiles.
The sessions will be conducted in English and Spanish at the Instituto Superior Yachay Wasi in Barranco, Lima-Perú.
The Workshop includes a visit to the Yachay Wasi program for the reconstruction of pre Hispanic textiles and ends with a visit to a Textile Collection in Lima
One week Pre-Columbian Textile Workshops

Interested participants may sign in for an extra week at the Yachay Wasi textile conservation lab.
Schedule: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Price:
US$ 240 (Includes coffee breaks and lunch from Monday to Friday)
If requested, Yachay Wasi will coordinate for lodging in nearby hotels or student’s boarding houses.

One week course (afternoons) covering ancient manufacturing techniques, style and iconography and the conservation of Precolumbian ceramics. Staff includes archaeologists, traditional pottery artisans, conservators.

The groups participate in one week theoretical and practical courses in Lima, at the Institute´s laboratories. Course includes visits to other projects and museums.
